BUshfires

The Bushfires of 2019 and 2020 are having an extended and devastating impact on our immediate and surrounding communities.

These fires are having not only physical and practical impacts on peoples lives, but also their mental health. Mental health concerns might arise over the anguish and worry for loved ones caught up, fears about not being able to escape, re-traumatisation from the Canberra Fires, and witnessing horrific scenes.

The Federal Government has understood the potential for devastating impacts on peoples mental health and has from 17th January 2020 opened a new funding stream for immediate access mental health services.

For those affected by the fires, there is no need for the traditional Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP), those affected can simply make a booking with a Clinical Psychologist. There has been 10 sessions opened up with the normal MHCP rebate, and at this time will be in place for 2 years.

Should the bushfires have affected you please do not hesitate to contact to discuss your concerns.
